Printing, Eprinting, old cars and Vegemite.

Sounds like the title to an Indie movie.

It’s been a busy week. Coordinating a veritable hoard of parts suppliers and repair/rebuild jobs, all the while editing my first book.

The most stressful day of the week was Wednesday. I had a list of things to do. Lots of things. Then the phone rang just as I was setting off. Transmission man wanted MORE parts, urgently. I stopped at a wifi hotspot to find them and received an email telling me my artwork for the book printer needed to be improved.

Ding-ding-ding. Stress alarm. I was a tad grumpy by the end of the day. By Thursday I’d found the parts, fixed the artwork and published my book “Tough Justice”  in electronic form via Smashwords.

So, to summarize the week.

A trip to Portland and back completed.
Car rebuild and parts pretty much running to schedule.
Epublishing completed. A small glitch in original version corrected.
Order for print copies of books placed. Proof received from printer. The same glitch as above fixed and another idea added to the book. The editing never stops.
New proof to printer on Tuesday, after Memorial Weekend. Delivery of books, approx 10 days after that.

Afternoon off on Saturday. Wandered around Ashland with two friends from the writers group. Found a great ‘Rat Fink’ for the Wildcat. Later had Thai dinner at nearby restaurant. Then returned to the local chocolate shop and left with a large bag of goodies.

In between all the above, cleaned and painted numerous parts for the car. Sorted and wire brushed bolts for engine and chassis till I was going cross-eyed. Cleaned and painted trunk, so I have somewhere to put all the bits arriving.

Hmmm. That’s probably enough to go with.  🙂

As you can see, I’m bored, bored, bored.  LOL. No pressure though. I still have four weeks to fit the new engine and transmission when they arrive, reassemble the front suspension and all the brakes and put the body work back together.
Just as well I don’t have too much else going on.

Ps: I made an amazing discovery yesterday. After many months of depravation, pining for a fix, I found an unopened jar of Vegemite in a friend’s larder. I’d sent it to them a year ago and they’d never used it. Guess what was for breakfast this morning. It’s the small things that make life worth living.

You didn’t save the group any Vegemite? I don’t know what it is. Heard it’s sort of like SPAM. Only not. Just know about it from that Men at Work song.

It’s been a tough week. A WALL of delays, everything I touch is delayed. Add some rain for more delays and what do you have … Russellis Interuptus.
Took some time for web updates.

Russellis Interuptus doesn’t happen very often. You’re always juggling several different projects as well as story lines.
Can’t wait to get Tough Justice.

And we all are looking forward to the hard copy release of Tough Justice. Busy, yes, but worth it.
